The Association building up "AHL Dahab" (the people of Dahab)

After several months of making awarness, clean-up, contacting the officials and several key members of the community....
We have held yesterday (18/06/2013) our second meeting with the city council of Dahab, as representative of the association in our temporary location in Hamd abou Faisal place

The meeting subject was about, again the city rubbish collection problems, and we have agreed with the mayor on several crucial points that we hope will benefit our community that should be announced later this week.

18/06/2013 Dahab Lagouna Cleaning

7 x 50 Liters bags (plastic bags, plastic bottles and metal cans) were collected underwater, by Selim Fereg, Eid Sobeh, Eid Hemed, Hagag Said, Karim el Hemeidy (Daniela Diving and Bedouin DM team)

Above water 10 x 50 Liters bags entrance of the lagouna (the lagouna beach was clean from last week clean up): Abdl El Salam Mohamed, Hamd Mohamed, Eid, .. Daniela Hotel Team: Aly Diving, Chef Moustafa, Moustafa accountant, Moustafa Driver, Hamada accountant.

Egypt update – Awareness Project in Dahab

A task force has been initiated to look into the opportunities and to work together with the Dive Centers to support their business.
Daniela Diving is taking a step forward to offer support to their local community and has initiated the Awareness Project in Dahab. Together with sponsers, this project will offer  8 bedouins the opportunity to become Divemasters. Within the scope of this project Marine Protection will be addressed, awareness as to the environment, Clean Up projects, school projects, swimming and various other activities will fall under this programme. Karim El Hemeidy – the Owner of Daniela Diving: “I believe in this project and will personally conduct the Divemaster courses. The first meeting took place together with Hagag, my assistant, and we have filled the 8 places for our divemasters. The attendees are motivated and even if it will be hard work we are looking forward to the challenge. The aim of this project is to bring the awareness of the susceptibility of the marine life, the ecosystem and the need to uphold and respect the local and international laws. Diving will be a form of integration into this environment with the opportunity to adapt and to be ambassadors for the protection of marine life.”

We will keep you updated as to the progress of this course. A special thank you to Dr Heinkal, who has offered to do the medical checks free of charge.

22/04/2013 Pay it forward team: Help painting the streets borders

Making more and more awareness about having a nicer city. The group pay it forward, by helping painting the street walk way, all the effort and the donation were made by the residents living  in this street. DM trainees helped painting and cleaning the street with the residents.

22/04/2013 Pay it forward team: Organize a clean up

Member of the project organized beach clean-up with Dahab children. A full pick-up with filled in 2 hours, when children believe in what they are doing, they are more effective than lazy adults :)
